Classic Camping Cookware
Camping Tip #1 - if you plan to cook on your camping trip, then buy special camping cookware rather than ruining your good home kitchen pans.
It may sound like common sense, but unless you plan ahead carefully, then camping cookware is probably one of the last things you will think of. Just as you are running out the door, your natural instincts are to throw last minute items in a box to take with you; and your kitchen is often one of your last ports of call. Even though specialized camping cookware may sound expensive at the time it is well worth the investment.
Using your home pots and pans as camping cookware is a quick road to ruin. I used to own a favorite boiling pot that was ruined on a camping trip, and I have not been able to find a suitable replacement for it since. This pot was present from my wife's grandmother that had been handed down through the family for generations. It was old, and one of a kind, but it like a dream. After just one day of using on a camp fire it had beans burned to the bottom, which I was never able to properly scour off. In the end I had to throw it away and hope that the family didn't notice. Having a good look at camping cookware is a good investment of time so that you can invest in good quality cookware designed for the task. Believe me its worth it for your piece of mind and you relationships with your family!
