Camping Lanterns: See The Light

Given that night time occurs for about 40-50% of a camping trip then in my view a camping lantern is a must have. By all means take your flashlight or torch because you will need these to fossick around in the bush for a pressing midnight nature break, or inside your tent looking for your water bottle. But when it comes to providing the main light source for your campsite nothing beats a well made, quality camping lantern.

I don't know about you, but it's been a while since I last got away from it all? A while since I had fresh air you can only find in the wilderness. All of us need to be able to escape urban lifestyle that most of us choose to live, and for me the best way to do this is to re-introduce yourself to Mother Nature. If this is your first time for heading out on a big camping trip, you need to get prepared for the adventure. What are the things must take items, and what are optional? In my view a quality tent is a must regardless if it's winter or summer, as is a sleeping bag for each person. But wait there;s more! Some other must have for me are waterproof matches, plenty of food and water, spare clothing, insect spray, and a really good camping lantern.

When I was a kid and my Dad took us out into the bush I don't recall taking quite so many pieces of equipment and supplies as we do now. It probably wasn't much more than a blanket, a water bottle, a camping knife, and the clothes on our back. Unfortunately in today's pampered society its important to many people to go camping in style. "Roughing it is one thing but not to the point of discomfort", I hear them cry! Equipment such as a good camping lantern makes like a lot more comfortable. And since equipment such as this is so readily available and easily accessible we would be simply dumb not to use it.

It is still great fun to stretch out in your sleeping bag by an open fire under the stars. But just because you have these bits of equipment doesn't mean you have to use them all the time. I still possible to enjoy the outdoor adventure, but knowing when it becomes too much, especially if you have young children with you, that you can fall back on some basic portable comforts of life. It love taking my daughter out camping in the woods , but she goes to sleep much quicker at night knowing she has her very own camping lantern in case she needs it. In reality it's not much more than a typical kiddy light, but it works the just the same and has the same effect as the one at home. If you are looking for a quality camping lantern maybe it's time to get online. The internet has loads of sites looking to provide you with the camping essentials just right for you.
